End Immigration Detention / #WelcomeToCanada
What this campaign seeks
End the use of provincial jails and correctional facilities to hold immigration detainees in Canada, and reform Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) immigration detention more broadly.
How it works
Joint human-rights reporting by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, province-by-province lobbying to cancel jail-detention arrangements, and public mobilisation.
Where it stands
By Sept 2025, all provinces ended use of provincial jails; federal reforms pending
